Is Paperwork Freedom an app or software?
No. Paperwork Freedom is a step-by-step video course. I show you how to use Codex, the AI assistant inside ChatGPT, to work with the files and spreadsheet already on your computer. You need ChatGPT Plus, which currently costs US$20 per month and is paid separately to OpenAI.
I'm not good with computers and I don't like typing. Is this really for me?
Yes. I begin at the beginning and show you each step. You can talk to the assistant using your microphone, just as you would explain the paperwork to someone sitting beside you. You do not need to type long instructions, learn coding or understand technical computer language. You also get the First Month Talk-Through, so you can keep the steps and words beside you the first time.
How long will the course take?
The ten lessons take about two hours in total. You are using that time to teach the assistant a process you can save and use again. In the course example, the next month took the computer just 6 minutes and 26 seconds.
Can it read photographs and handwritten receipts?
Yes, provided the photograph and handwriting are clear enough. It can work with PDFs, scans and photographs taken with your phone. You should always check the details before relying on them.
Is this only for property businesses or accountants?
No. The practice paperwork comes from a made-up property business because it gives us a clear example to follow. The course is for self-employed people who want to start getting repetitive computer admin off their plate.
What do I need to follow the course?
You need a Windows or Mac computer, internet access and ChatGPT Plus. ChatGPT Plus currently costs US$20 per month and is paid separately to OpenAI. The Google Sheet and Excel workbook used in the lessons are supplied.
Does the AI assistant always get everything right?
Not always, and that is part of what I show you.
You teach it in small steps, much like showing a new member of staff how you want a job done. If it makes a mistake, you point it out and explain what should happen instead.
Once the process is working your way, those corrections become part of the saved Skill, ready for the next batch. You review the finished work without having to do the whole job manually yourself.
